City of Madeira Beach — Municipal Street Resurfacing

City of Madeira Beach Municipal Street Resurfacing

Full-service milling and paving for a City of Madeira Beach municipal street contract in Pinellas County

Milling + Paving Madeira Beach, FL

Project Overview

Blacktop Florida was contracted by the City of Madeira Beach to perform asphalt milling and resurfacing on residential streets within the city. The project involved precision milling of the existing asphalt surface followed by full-lane paving with new asphalt.

Municipal street contracts require close coordination with the city, traffic control planning, and execution that minimizes disruption to residents. Our crew mobilized the CAT PM622 cold planer for milling operations and the Weiler P385C tracked paver for asphalt placement, completing both phases of work as a single integrated scope.

Madeira Beach is a barrier island community in Pinellas County. The residential street network serves both permanent residents and a high volume of seasonal visitors, making schedule coordination and clean execution a priority on this contract.

Scope of Work

  • Precision milling of existing asphalt to specified depth using CAT PM622
  • Loading and transport of millings for recycling
  • Full-lane asphalt paving with Weiler P385C tracked paver
  • Hand-finishing at edges, intersections, and utility structures
  • Traffic control and coordination with City of Madeira Beach
  • Site cleanup and final surface inspection upon completion

Our Approach

We coordinated with the City of Madeira Beach to develop a work schedule that minimized disruption to residents and maintained emergency vehicle access throughout the project.

Milling operations were performed first, with the CAT PM622 removing the existing asphalt surface to a controlled depth. Millings were loaded directly into dump trucks and transported for recycling.

Paving followed milling on a coordinated schedule to minimize the time the milled surface was exposed. The Weiler P385C paver placed the new asphalt in a single pass, with crew members performing hand-finishing at edges, intersections, and around utility structures.

Traffic control was maintained throughout both phases of work. The site was cleaned and inspected upon completion before being returned to the city.
